In the heart of Provence, La Barben Zoo offers a wonderful day out in a beautiful green park filled with Mediterranean fragrances. Set high on a plateau overlooking Salon de Provence, halfway between Marseille and Avignon, its 9 km of footpaths through oak woods take you on a gentle journey into the world of animals!

A unique place to get closer to wildlife, the zoo has over 130 species for you to discover, from all across the world: giraffes, elephants, tigers, bears, lions, rhinos, meerkats and cranes, and much more… More than 700 animals to surprise, impress or charm you, but never leave you indifferent!

Not forgetting the strange and fascinating reptiles, housed in the 12th century sheep pen.

Come with family or friends and ride our mini train into the centre of the zoo. There are shady picnic areas available and a number of picnic tables are placed at points along the footpaths.
